Operational Side in China
Operations are going on and the terminals are open – operations are impacted by many void sailings and limited trucking activities due to many local government restrictions
Customs clearance can be done
70% of factories have resumed work but start up slow , not all staff returned. NGB CFS to re-open by Wednesday / factories to slowly open by Wednesday – Ningbo LW applied for office return
Except NGB and WUH, CFS , port handling , customs in other branches back to operations although services are slow
Trucking in city areas available (50-60%) but due to lack of drivers prices are up , trucking to/from outside the cities very restricted / ad-hoc solutions depending on exact locations
Few new bookings since in the last days
In case of bookings not all factories can deliver due to production schedules ( lack of workers) / reliable trucking
Exports from China WB , seafrt
Operations are impacted by many void sailings limited trucking activities due to many local government restrictions
Port omissions, void sailings and schedule changes will happen at short
Customs clearance can be done
No space and equipment issue at the moment
No GRI or PSS announcement so far for March
Exports from Europe EB , seafrt
We expect that not only the space will get tight but also the availability of empty containers will become a challenge as soon as demand in China will pick up again
Most of the carriers either are considering to implement a GRI or a PSS(some of them are planning to go for both) as of the 1st. of March.
