Hurricane-like storms bring handling to a standstill at terminals in Northern Europe
Dear customers,
three successive hurricanes have been moving across northern Europe since 18th February.
All modes of transport are still affected in their operations:
•Rail freight traffic to and from the seaports is severely delayed.
•Handling in the seaports had to be suspended several times, loading closures, departures and arrivals are off schedule
•Air connections have in part been completely suspended or are also delayed
•Existing reservations were lost and time slots had to be re-booked
The airports will soon make up for lost time. Rail services and seaport terminals, on the other hand, will need the following weeks to return to regular operations.
Please therefore expect longer transit times, short-term timetable changes and further delays.
We ask for your understanding that demurrage, storage charges and costs for demurrage and detention may be incurred, which are to be borne by the cargo owner.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your Logwin representative.
Kind regards, Your Logwin Air + Ocean Team
